Electronic waste (e-waste) is anything that plugs into an outlet or uses a battery.

It is illegal to place Electronic Waste (e-waste) in any collection container. The State of California provides a list of banned materials from the landfill that require special drop off.

NOTICE ON LAPTOP, TABLET AND CELL PHONE EWASTE DROP-OFF:

Please do not puncture through laptops, tablets, and cellphones in an attempt to destroy the data. Nicking or drilling through a battery can be extremely dangerous and guarantees the battery can’t be reclaimed for recycling. Drilling through a device doesn’t prevent it from being accessed and isn’t worth the risk of fire or noxious fumes. To delete your personal data, please consider doing a factory reset instead.

NOTICE ON E-BIKE BATTERIES:

The Burbank Recycle Center’s battery collection program does not accept e-bike batteries. After confirming your battery is on the list of accepted e-bike battery brands, please refer to Call2Recycle’s Locator to find a location that can accept your battery.

Repair, Don’t Replace!
Instead of buying new, support local businesses by having them repair and refurbish broken items. Search for repair options in your area.

Consider Donation
If the item is still usable, please donate.
