Solvent-Based? It's Hazardous Waste

Solvent-based glue should be disposed of with hazardous waste. Solvent-based glue is extremely strong glue that is used for certain types of construction projects. Typically it is marked “flammable,” “combustible” or “contains petroleum distillates.” Learn more about the solvent disposal.

Water-Based? Dry It Out

If your water-based glue bottle is full, dry out the glue and throw it in the trash. If it’s empty, rinse it out and recycle it. Glue can contaminate an entire batch of recycling, so make sure glue bottles are truly empty before recycling.
